Kona Brewing Company, Hawaii's largest brewery, has been crafting award-winning ales and lagers since 1995. Beer styles run the gamut from a light blonde ale to a dark coffee stout, from an extra hoppy pale ale to a sweet and tangy fruit beer. With nearly a dozen different varieties on tap all the time, Kona Brewing Company's two brewpubs on Hawaii's Big Island and Oahu offer a taste for any type of beer drinker.
The brewery's flagship beers, Fire Rock Pale Ale, Longboard Lager and Big Wave Golden Ale, also are distributed on tap and in bottles throughout Hawaii, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington and Japan.
The Kona Brewers Festival
Kona Brewing Company sponsors the Kona Brewers Festival. The event is held the second Saturday of March each year and features some 30 breweries offering tastes of 60 beers and chefs from 25 Hawaii restaurants preparing gourmet food. Live music and educational environmental displays round out the festival, held on the shores of Kailua Bay under swaying coconut palms on Hawaii's Big Island.
